12 Principles of Success- Rule #4 – RWB Tracking

November 5, 2018 by Joe McAuliffe

At Metamorphosis, we believe the single most important word leading to both happiness and success in our personal and business career is the word “tracking.”  It is also the most important letter in the formula for success in ISIT.  Keep in mind that tracking only counts if it’s in writing (if it isn’t in writing then it doesn’t exist).  The reason that tracking in writing is even more important than identifying your goals, strategizing, and implementing is that even without these other things, tracking will still allow you to figure out what you can do better next time.

All too often successful professionals will develop a winning strategy and stick with it because it’s working and they’re making money.  You must keep in mind, however, that there’s always a better way to do things by tracking your performance and asking yourself, “what can I do better?”, you will find even better ways to make more money.  If you’re not always tracking how your winning strategy is working, eventually it will stop working and you will find yourself in a rut.

The best way to track is to ask yourself three questions:

  1. What went Right?
  2. What went Wrong?
  3. What can I do Better?

Another great benefit to the third question is that you are continuously immolating your mind to intellectually grow and develop.  In other words, it’s the best approach to getting smarter.

What can tracking be applied to?

  • daily activities
  • personal relationships
  • FORBES
  • listing presentations
  • listing sales strategies
  • buyer strategies
  • relationship management strategies (RMR)
  • negotiations
  • children
  • spouses and significant others
  • EVERYTHING

There is an expression you should give some thought to.  “If you want to change things to get more out of life, then change things so you get more out of life.” This sounds simplistic and redundant, in truth, it’s the only way you’ll ever become a happy self-actualized human being.  Start the year out right by tracking activities in writing.
