Lord knows the real estate business can be very difficult, especially given the market and economic conditions over the past several years. It can be very daunting to face the multitude of challenges that come up on almost a daily basis. So, why not team up with someone you like that can help you overcome obstacles that are keeping you from achieving the income goals you have set for the year? Remember:
“Co-Partnering with another agent, will double the odds that you will be successful.”
How does a Co-Partnership work? It’s just like partnering with another agent, with one big difference. When you Co-Partner with another agent, you are both agreeing to work together on one particular, prospect, project or campaign.
Consider the following examples:
- Listings – Mary is a very talented agent. Everyone seems to like her but she doesn’t have the impressive sales resume that allows her to compete with powerful agents. Mary is regularly invited by prospective sellers to be considered to handle listings, but is never successful because she is competing with agents that are the best in the business.
- Solution – Mary Co-Partners with a top agent from her company that has a proven track record in the prospective sellers’ neighborhood. By bringing in a heavy-hitter to go head-to-head with her competitors, she now makes 50% of a big commission, instead of 100% of nothing!
- Cold-Calling– Bob is a good agent; conscientious, organized, experienced and knowledgeable. No-one that knows Bob can understand why he isn’t a top producer. You see, Bob has a problem. He is afraid of rejection and hates the thought of picking up the phone to call expired listings. Besides, it’s just no fun!
- Solution– Bob Co-Partners with another good agent that needs more listings. They schedule time every Thursday night at 5:00 to meet at the office and call their Expired Listing Prospects. Both Bob and his Co-Partner are surprised at how much fun it is making cold-calls with another agent. And, the results speak for themselves. They are able to secure several listings over $1 million, and are well-positioned for a strong season.
In both of the above cases, the simple solution to overcoming a very difficult obstacle was right in front of their faces. That next year, Bob worked half as much, had a lot more fun enjoying the companionship and synergy of another agent, AND DOUBLED HIS INCOME by using a Co-Partnership.
