Prospecting – It’s Time to Revisit Old Files
It’s that time of the year when it’s a good idea to map out a Business Plan and strategies for the coming year, and the best way to figure out where you want to go is to take a look at where you’ve been.
That’s why it’s always a good idea to review old files, daily information, and client lists in preparation for the coming year.
There are gold nuggets in past records that may have been overlooked. Listed below are a few good ideas to apply in preparation for a great year:
1. Go through all contact lists to identify any new business opportunities.
2. As you review old files, make sure that all contact information from each file has been added to your CRM system.
3. Don’t hoard information. If you’ve set aside magazines, articles or other information you haven’t touched for months, get rid of it. The clutter will distract you and will just add more stress to your busy life.
4. If you’re not quite ready to organize and file information that has sat in a pile, scan the documents and archive them electronically before trashing hard copies.
You get the idea. A cluttered desk or work space leads to a cluttered mind. Plan on focusing “an inch wide, and a mile deep” in the coming year by cleaning up old lists and files.
